State Rep. Todd Courser has issued another Facebook statement-this time he is proclaiming his love of the Rocky theme song, "Eye Of The Tiger."
Courser shared a YouTube video of the song and its lyrics, along with this statement:
"Normally in the morning I will listen to praise music on my way into work, but some mornings this song just feels right - eye of the tiger. I know with all the controversy it might be hard to understand, but when you fail, you acknowledge your failure, you put safe guards in place to guard your heart as unto the Lord, then you work to repair all those relationships that you have let down. Then you have to decide to either shrink back or lean on God's promises and just get up in humility and in the fear of the Lord and return to fight for those things that matter and go out and do the job you were hired to do.
I ran on a campaign to not vote for any spending or taxing increases - very easy to say in a campaign, but almost all get here and turn and vote for whatever the progressive leadership wants and demands. I said it and I have done it, with each vote, each sponsorship and co-sponsorship. In so doing, I have assembled one of the most Conservative voting records in this legislature, if not among the most Conservative voting records in recent history of this state legislature. To do it, I have had to stand against my own leadership and the caucus time and again. They claim I am not effective - well if you measure effectiveness as voting to increase spending and taxes time and again, and supporting progressive legislation, then yes, I would not fit the mold they hoist on reps to measure effectiveness. However, if you call effective standing and voting as I said I would in my campaign, and amassing one of the best Conservative voting records in recent memory, then my record of liberty votes/sponsored legislation stands on its own merits and is one of the most Conservative anywhere, having sponsored some important pieces of Liberty legislation some of which are among the first in the nation - on so many important issues.
As a believer, you will stumble and fall, but when you do you are required to get up acknowledge your failures, then guard your heart, dust yourself off and move on to fighting for the things that matter - Faith, Family, and Freedom. God bless you all and I hope you have a great day!"
