Breaking: State Rep. Shane Hernandez Backs Whitmer Impeachment Inquiry

In a major development Sunday evening, House Appropriations Committee Chairman State Rep. Shane Hernandez tells West Michigan Politics he supports a special committee to investigate whether the corruption and scandals surrounding Governor Whitmer's mishandling of Coronavirus merit impeachment, or a historic censure.

From an Unemployment system crisis she's done almost nothing to fix, her evil, mind boggling Coronavirus nursing home policy, allowing Biden adviser Ed Duggan to line the pockets of a Democrat firm on a "contract tracing" program, violating her own Executive Order repeatedly, and questionable use of data, Whitmer's mismanagement during the virus panic has not been the perfect picture the corporate media regularly portrays.

"I think all of that needs to be looked into, and I think it will take months to get to the bottom of it," Hernandez said. "I would like to see the Select Committee on COVID-19 transition (to consider impeachment, or censure). I don't know how we'll ever get the data, but we sure need to try."

Hernandez, who has one of the strongest Conservative records in the House, is running for Congress in the 10th District to replace Rep. Paul Mitchell, who is retiring.
Mitchell has been extremely active fighting Whitmer, suing her in federal court, challenging the powers she claims.

Hernandez has helped lead the fight for the state's frustrated workers battling the unemployment system, but Whitmer hasn't seemed very interested in assisting.

The Michigan Constitution requires a majority of the House for impeachment, which the House Republicans have, but 2/3 of the Senate for removal. No Dem Senator will vote to remove.

Knowing this, the Special Impeachment Committee could still opt for a historic censure vote to avoid a Senate trial.

Imagine what the investigation, subpoenas, and subsequent sworn testimony might uncover?!

West Michigan Politics is creating a list of legislators who support (or refuse to support) launching a Whitmer impeachment inquiry, and will share that in the near future.

In Pennsylvania, dozens of Republican legislators have stepped up to initiate impeachment of Gov. Tom Wolf.

“It is understandable that members are frustrated by the governor’s unilateral actions,”
House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler's spokesman Mike Straub said, adding that “a resolution like this grows out of that frustration and is about holding the executive accountable when he refuses to engage with the elected voices of the residents of our commonwealth.”

President Trump boldly proclaimed Friday at Mt. Rushmore that:

"No person who remains quiet at the destruction of this resplendent heritage can possibly lead us to a better future.

The radical ideology attacking our country advances under the banner of social justice, but in truth, it would demolish both justice and society. It would transform justice into an instrument of division and vengeance and it would turn our free and inclusive society into a place of a repression, domination, and exclusion.

They want to silence us, but we will not be silenced.

It is time for our politicians to summon the bravery and determination of our American ancestors. It is time. It is time to plant our flag and to protect the greatest of this nation for citizens of every race in every city in every part of this glorious land.

For the sake of our honor, for the sake of our children, for the sake of our union, we must protect and preserve our history, our heritage, and our great heroes.

Here tonight before the eyes of our forefathers, Americans declare again, as we did 244 years ago, that we will not be tyrannized, we will not be demeaned, and we will not be intimidated by bad, evil people. It will not happen."
