The Michigan Republican Party State Committee has spoken, and they have chosen Kathy Berden as the new RNC Committeewoman, replacing Ronna Romney McDaniel as Michigan's female Representative to the Republican National Committee.
She joins Dave Agema in rounding out the Michigan delegation, which includes Romney-McDaniel, who also gets a vote in RNC matters as Chair of the party.
WMP had projected Berden would win the race. She beat Mary Whiteford in a runoff.
State Rep. Cindy Gamrat was eliminated after the first round of voting.
Tom McMillin's resolution to amend the Open Primary Process was tabled on a 10-4 vote in the policy committee, leaving the March 8th Open Primary as is. A more closed system will be the subject of a study for possible implementation in future elections.
