Congressman Bill Huizenga's voting record continues to deteriorate, this time because he voted to authorize renewal of "No Child Left Behind" as requested by President Barack Obama. Congressman Justin Amash opposed Obama's NCLB renewal, the only Michigan Republican to do so.

>>>See how your Rep. voted HERE

Amash said of the vote " expired 7+ yrs ago. Why would Congress revive this big-government program? Leave it dead & stop funding this expired law"

After it passed, Amash said "Reauthorization of , , passes 218-213...It further entrenches the federal govt in education."

According to The Hill, the vote was close, and not without some fireworks:

"The House on Wednesday voted to reauthorize the No Child Left Behind law, resurrecting a bill that Republican leaders were forced to pull from the floor earlier this year due to conservative opposition.
Passage fell narrowly along party lines on a vote of 218-213, with 27 Republicans joining all Democrats in opposition to nearly derail it on the floor.

For most of the roll call, the bill had more votes against it than in favor. Many Republicans either held out their votes until the last minute or changed their votes under pressure from GOP leaders."

Huizenga's voting record is of increasing concern in the conservative 2nd Congressional District. He has also backed Obama's Trans Pacific Partnership, multiple debt ceiling increases, the "#CRomnibus," and hoards of other bad policies.
