Tickets are now on sale for the big Donald Trump event that has received significant attention since WMP broke news of Trump's Michigan visit last week. Trump will be in Birch Run on August 11 for a fundraiser co-hosted by the Genesee GOP and the Saginaw GOP. Tickets are $25 and judging by the interest, one would do well to buy tickets ASAP to make sure they don't sell out.

The event website says:

"Making his first statewide appearance as a presidential candidate, come see who everyone in politics is talking about, Donald Trump! Mr. Trump will be the keynote speaker of this multi-county event with the Genesee and Saginaw County Republican Party. Get your tickets now and hear for yourself Donald Trump live and un-edited and decide for yourself if there is substance behind the sound bites. Doors open at 4. Event start time TBD "

There is also a VIP reception available at a cost of $125. Questions can be directed to

Also noteworthy: Trump picked up the endorsement of former MI House Speaker Rick Johnson. Johnson compared Trump's business experience to that of Gov. Snyder's and told Tim Skubick:

“I think it’s time to put a businessman in the White House. We did that here in Michigan and it kind of worked,” said Johnson. “That’s what’s nice about Donald Trump is the fact that he does speak his mind. He does say what he’s thinking and that’s what we need.”

  1. Lord knows we need more plain speaking truth telling politicians. Perhaps Mr. Trump can save the GOP from itself, but I doubt it. Trump offers a few soundbites that excite us, but has not yet addressed core issues.

It's probably too late to save the GOP, and there's no evidence that wants to be saved, or even realizes that it needs saving. I'd like to see contrition. The 12 steppers tell us the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem, yet the GOP has yet to acknowledge it's mistakes, much less, offer a correction and apology. As long as the GOP does not reject the premise of the neocon, Zionist mainstream media and Jewish Lobby, and does not restore the Constitution, it will continue sinking towards greater irrelevance. We don't need a second Democratic Party.

I joined the GOP and became a precinct delegate to help, yet the greatest resistance I've gotten is from fellow GOPers. In a room they will all tell you they're "conservative" then turn right around and vote for RINOs like Mitt Romney, Rick Snyder and Brian Calley, the guy who helped Jennifer Granholm pass the Michigan Business Tax in the darkness of night in December 2008. They never saw a tax they didn't like.

But don't call them RINOs, because the former chairmen of the Oakland County Republican Party told us that's not nice.
