Brian Meissen, the controversial President of the Village of New Haven, had an interesting response to being held accountable for some of his recent scandals: personally attack me, blame his issues on data centers, and make himself look like a victim to his group of rabid supporters on social media.
My issues have been well litigated and publicized, his 2022 and 2024 controversies were not whatsoever. I have nothing to do with any data centers...And he is a public official: the matters raised were fair game---he is DEFINITELY not a victim.
One local official from a nearby community described Meissen as a loner who is frequently combative with neighboring municipal leaders, to the level many would consider rude. That characterization didn't surprise me at all.
In 2022, Meissen faced multiple referrals for criminal investigation by Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido for repeatedly failing to file legally required election documents with County Clerk Anthony Forlini:
Also in 2022, Meissen faced Collections Referral by the Macomb County Treasurer for failing to pay his campaign bills:

In 2024, Meissen was investigated by the Michigan State Police in 2024, and faced criminal charges with up to 90 days in jail for his illegal plan to change residential speed limits before he backtracked:
Meissen also brags about driving recklessly, saying he likes to go 85 mph, and those who follow the speed limit laws are lame.
If you are a public official and you can't take the heat, maybe it's time for you to get out of the kitchen...
#New HavenDeservesBetter than Brian Meissen's blame games and excuses!
