#Meekhof4Governor? Gongwer Confirms WMP Story, Senator's Office Refuses To Deny

A few weeks ago, WMP reported that Arlan Meekhof is strongly considering running for Governor in 2018. Gongwer confirms that speculation is running rampant in Lansing over a possible 2018 campaign by the Senate Majority Leader, and Meekhof's office refuses to dismiss the claims.

"Meekhof Said To Be Considering Gubernatorial Bid

Talk is swirling in political circles that Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof is considering running for governor in 2018, and his spokesperson does not deny it.

Although Mr. Meekhof (R-West Olive) was unavailable for comment, his spokesperson, Amber McCann, said Mr. Meekhof "hasn't ruled out what his plans are after the Senate," she said."

    It'll be entertaining to see him weasel, er, I mean "explain" away his intentions to unnecessarily raise Michigan's gas tax.
