***Clarification: Matt Hall is proxying for Agema in Cleveland for pre-convention matters related to Republican National Committee meetings, Agema will be in attendance at the convention later this week***

Longtime conservative activist Matt Hall, currently a law student and Trump Delegate in Cleveland, is the proxy vote for retiring RNC Committeeman Dave Agema at Republican National Committee meeting scheduled before the Convention. Agema will attend the convention itself later in the week.

Hall is also a member of the influential Rules Committee.

Political consultant John Yob praised Hall's efforts in Cleveland.

"Matt Hall has been involved for nearly 12 years," Yob tells WMP. "He supported McCain in 2008, Romney in 2012, and Trump in 2016. He deserves a lot of credit and should represent Michigan well as a proxy for Dave Agema, and on the national convention's Rules Committee."

Agema says he chose Hall to help him prepare for Rules Committee meetings.

"I had him proxy only at the RNC meeting, since he's on rules nationally, I wanted him to view the RNC rule changes in order to be prepared for the National," Agema tells WMP. "However, as usual, the RNC rules committee did nothing. His Rules committee meets tonight and tomorrow. The platform committee did a great job. I arrive on Saturday for the National Convention. Seldom does anything happen of significance at the RNC meetings. Nice parties though!"

Hall recently said he was against any effort to deny Michigan primary voters their preferred choice and steal the nomination from Donald Trump.

According to the Detroit News:

"Michigan’s two delegates on a powerful national convention committee that begins meeting Wednesday oppose any effort to change the Republican Party’s rules to deny Donald Trump the GOP presidential nomination.

National convention delegates Judi Schwalbach of Escanaba and Matt Hall of Grand Rapids arrive in Cleveland on Wednesday for three days of potentially contentious Rules Committee meetings, where delegates will hash out the formal rules for the four-day national convention that begins Monday.

Both Hall and Schwalbach said they won’t support a fledgling insurgency of Republican Party activists who have been pushing for the committee to eliminate rules requiring delegates bound to vote for Trump on the first ballot at the convention...

Hall, a 3rd Congressional District Trump delegate, said the New York businessman “won fair and square.” Allowing delegates to shirk their duty to vote for Trump at the convention would disenfranchise voters back home, he said.

“We probably wouldn’t have had a state taxpayer-funded primary if we weren’t going to bind the results to our state,” said Hall, a 32-year-old law school student."

And no, Matt Hall and I are not related... :)
