Rep. Bill Huizenga, who found himself in the headlines last week after he finally started to address campaign finance issues more than ten years old with the Michigan Secretary of State, recently found himself in a new controversy:
Huizenga was number 8 in the top 10 of Washington Post's "Schock Category," showing which members of Congress spent the most on their office furniture and decorations.
Huizenga spent over $12,000 of taxpayer money on office furniture and decorations from 2013-2015, disclosure records show.
The Washington Post calls it the "Schock category" because Rep. Aaron Schock, who resigned today (effective at the end of March) after a slew of campaign finance issues, first saw himself in trouble when he spent too much money redesigning his office in 2009.
Inquiries on that issue led to many others, eventually causing Schock's resignation..
