Michigan based political consultant John Yob has announced he will release a book on February 22nd.

The book is called "CHAOS: An Outsider's Guide to a Contested Republican National Convention In 2016"

The book, as the title indicates, provides insight in to what the convention process entails, and is billed as a "guide to a contested convention that will get you up to speed on the people who matter, the rules that have been changed, the real impact of delegate binding, and the free agent delegations who hold power on the convention floor."

The book also spotlights Yob's history of successful convention battles...

Yob, recently in the news after the famous cheap shot from Rubio adviser Rich Beeson at Horn's Bar on Mackinac Island that was first reported by WMP, has been involved at the top levels of campaigns for decades.

From his first big races in the 90's, to working for politicians like Snyder, Santorum, McCain, and more, many are looking forward to giving Yob's book a read.

A preview of the book posted on a promotional Facebook page says:

"The Republican National Convention in 2016 will likely be the first contested convention since 1976 and the first convention since 1948 to be decided after multiple ballots.

The conservative anti-establishment groundswell that began in the primary season of 2010, and continues today with the dominance of the outsider spectrum will culminate in a chaotic convention that will decide the Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees of the Republican Party.

This book is the outsiders guide to a contested convention that will get you up to speed on the people who matter, the rules that have been changed, the real impact of delegate binding, and the free agent delegations who hold power on the convention floor.

You will also learn the eight steps you can take to impact the convention process and help your favorite candidate win the nomination."

Yob has a nearly flawless record of winning state conventions in Michigan. His major victories include John Smietanka for Attorney General in 1998, Terri Lynn Land for Secretary of State in 2002, Bill Schuette for Attorney General in 2010, and Lt. Governor Brian Calley in 2014. Yob also managed former ambassador Ron Weiser’s successful 2014 campaign for University of Michigan regent nominee, and in 2013, ran RNC Committeeman Dave Agema’s shocking landslide victory over incumbent Saul Anuzis.

By Brandon Hall

Sources tell WMP that at least one supporter of Jeb Bush is already attempting to procure one of Michigan's RNC delegate positions months ahead of the convention and weeks away before Michigan's March 8th primary.

"Some districts are starting to nominate National Convention Delegates," the source said. "6th District Chair Vic Fitz was nominated by Cass County Executive Committee."

A recent poll shows Donald J. Trump with a large lead among likely Michigan GOP primary voters, beating Ted Cruz by over 30%. The poll also said Trump would beat Hillary Clinton in November...

Stay tuned!

Macomb's Marino Announces Michigan House Campaign

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)
Macomb County Commissioner Steve Marino announced earlier this week he is running for the Michigan House in the 24th District.

Marino, a Republican, is touting his record on the Macomb County Commission and his ability to win tough elections.

Marino was re-elected Sgt. At Arms on the commission early this year.

According to a press release:

"People want a leader who isn’t afraid to stand on principle and they deserve someone who has the skill to be effective in delivering meaningful results. I intend to fight for common sense solutions that help hard-working families get ahead," said Marino. "My focus is on the issues that matter: protecting jobs, strengthening education, and making government more efficient and accountable for how they spend our tax dollars."

Commissioner Marino has experience winning tough elections. In 2014, he defeated an incumbent Democrat opponent who had held office going back to 1995. This victory came in a commission seat with a 53% Democrat voter base. In that race, Marino received the "Well Qualified - Preferred" rating from the Macomb Chamber of Commerce, and the Detroit News also endorsed him for the 10th district.

As a Macomb County Commissioner, Steve Marino represents roughly 70,000 residents from Harrison Township and St. Clair Shores. One of three officers, he was elected Sergeant-at-Arms of the Board of Commissioners and Vice-Chair of the Justice and Public Safety Committee.

Steve has long been active in his community. He currently serves on the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Foundation, the L’Anse Creuse Community Action Coalition, the Selfridge Base Community Council, and several other local community advocacy organizations.

Marino is the owner of a small Macomb-based public affairs firm that specializes in research, issue advocacy and finance. Previously, he served as the Government Relations Coordinator for Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, Inc.

A lifelong resident of Macomb County, Marino grew up in Harrison Township. A graduate of L’Anse Creuse High School and Michigan State University, he holds a B.A. in Economics, a B.A. in Public Policy and Public Administration, and a B.A. in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from James Madison College.

Marino is seeking the Republican nomination in the 24th House district that includes Harrison Township and parts of Clinton Township and Macomb Township."

In a shocking display, residents at a Flint home have thrown away what seems to be full bottles of donated water...

"320 Burroughs Ave. Flint Michigan has three unopened cases of water out to the trash. Your donations put to good use. #FlintWaterCrisis," wrote Flint resident Page Brousseau in a Facebook statement...

Wow! :(

Pettalia Facebook Post Of "Young Women Skinny Dipping" Raises Questions

By Brandon Hall)
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com
After all the uproar over things Dave Agema posts to Facebok-even if just a share-it's clear their are consequences for political figures who post on social media.

That's why some are worried about State Rep. Peter Pettalia's recent post featuring "naked young women skinny dipping."

Pettalia is positioning himself for a Congressional run to replace a retiring Dr. Dan Benishek. The race is currently between State Sen. Tom Casperson and former State Sen. Jason Allen...

In a swing Congressional district like Michigan's First, some worry such antics are fodder for the Dems in November. Already in a Presidential year that is more favorable Dems, the margin for Republican error is slim.

View the post below:

When clicked, the picture is a joke that references the young women possibly being attacked by an alligator...

WOW: Meekhof Stands Alone, Sides With Animal Abusers In Bizarre Series Of Votes

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com
Most of us can barely stand to watch those heartbreaking commercials of abused and neglected animals, but it looks like Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof feels a different way.

In a shocking and bizarre series of votes,  Meekhof sided with animal abusers over Michiganders who love their pets and consider them part of the family.

In one vote, Meekhof was the ONLY Senator to vote against ending a fee on background checks during pet adoption. Arlan wants as much of your money in Lansing, even on the backs of poor and helpless pets looking for a home.

In another vote, Meekhof let animal abusers have quicker access to animals despite horrendous past abuse.

"Introduced by Sen. Rick Jones (R) on March 18, 2015, to revise a law that prohibits an individual convicted of animal abuse from owning a similar animal for five years after being sentenced, to instead extend the ban to five years after completing the sentence, or whichever is later... Passed 37 to 1 in the Senate."

Why is Arlan siding with animal abusers over Michiganders? Is it a donor-driven issue? Disgusting.
