On April 15, 2020, no city in America had worse traffic than Lansing, Michigan.
Hundreds swarmed the Capitol lawn, and thousands flooded downtown. The convoy stretched out to the highways.
It felt unreal.
As I walked around Michigan and Cedar-normally an intersection swarming with activity before Coronavirus-it felt more like a takeover than gridlock. I could have had a picnic in the middle of the road.
Since then, the Lansing protests have inspired dozens of states across the country in a historic movement that is only growing stronger.
Michiganders traveled to Lansing from every corner of our beautiful state.
They came from Antrim to Ann Arbor, the Keweenaw to Kentwood. They came from Okemos and Ontonagon. Monroe, Mount Pleasant, and Muskegon. Grand Haven and Grand Traverse...
Everywhere.
They weren't Klansman or Nazis like Gretchen Whitmer and her paid propagandists and puppets are trying to dupe people into believing.
They were Moms and Dads, sons and daughters, friends and neighbors. Families. People like your Grandparents, or the guy or gal who owns that bar, restaurant, or business you love that may never be able to open again.

High school seniors robbed of commencement, spring activities, and much more.
Michiganders who have been told the job they take pride in to provide for their families is "not essential."
Single Moms on the brink of crying because they just want to work and are not getting the help they need.
Of course, too many in the fake news, corporate media are gleeful to promulgate Whitmer's phony racist narrative, but that is no surprise. (Thankfully, their have been some bright spots with pretty fair coverage.)
Governor Whitmer today hinted she may not lift restrictions until August. She also spewed outright lies about Sparrow Hospital being impacted by the protests.
It's not her first time shamelessly lying during this panic. Remember the phony story about President Trump trying to cut off medical supplies from Michigan?
Gretchen Whitmer should resign before Michigan's small business infrastructure completely collapses, families face record bankruptcy, and municipalities across the state erupt with civil disturbances.
Some memes feature Whitmer and say "still your Governor."
Of course, she was elected by a wide margin. She's my Governor, but she's not my Queen. I will not be her subject.
Pray for Michigan, it looks like some very trying times may be imminently awaiting.

There is no reason why those who want to remain on house arrest can't continue to do so, and the rest of us will get back to opening up Michigan.
