Heise Had State House Staffer Boot Wife's Challenger From Ballot In 2014 Judge Race

Kurt Heise

(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

State Rep. Kurt Heise knows a thing or two about being removed from the ballot.

Not only did he get tossed last week by the Court Of Appeals for failing to properly fill out paperwork in his race for Plymouth Twp. Supervisor, he also successfully orchestrated the removal of his wife's challenger in her election as a Wayne County Circuit Court Judge in 2014.

Sue Brams, a state employee in Heise's State Representative office, as well as the treasurer for his Supervisor campaign committee, filed a challenge at Heise's direction to strike the petitions of Delicia Taylor Coleman, his wife's challenger for Judge in April 2014.

Brams and Heise successfully got Delicia Coleman Taylor removed from the ballot, and his wife Catherine Heise, who had been appointed by Gov. Snyder, survived re-election...

Snyder Signs Detroit Schools Bailout, Taking $5 Million From West Ottawa And Grand Haven Students

Gov. Snyder

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Detroit Public Schools will receive over $600 million as part of yet another bailout after Gov. Snyder signed the legislation yesterday...

According to the Detroit News:

"Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday signed into law a $617 million state aid package for Detroit Public Schools, saying it marks “a new day” for families in the city.

The plan, approved by the Republican-led Legislature over opposition from Detroit legislators and other Democrats, will help pay off $467 million in operating debt and provide $150 million in start-up funding for a new debt-free district.

The debt relief, along with accountability measures in the legislation, “promises a brighter future for all of Detroit’s children,” the governor said in a statement after signing the bills with little fanfare and without a public ceremony.

Under the law, Detroiters will elect a new school board in November. Members would take office in January and hire a new superintendent.

An existing Financial Review Commission, established after the city’s bankruptcy, would be expanded to provide continued oversight in the district, which has been run by a state-appointed emergency manager since 2009."

What does that mean for local districts?

Look at West Ottawa and Grand Haven school districts as an example. If the money for Detroit was given to students across Michigan on a per-puil basis, each district would receive approximately $2,5 million!

When will Detroit finally be held accountable in a real way instead of politicians just continuing to write checks that don't solve the problem?

Michigan Delegates To Cleveland Call For Unity As Passions RAGE Over Controversial Anti Trump Effort

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

A letter written by conservative activist and RNC Platform Committee member Meshawn Maddock-signed by multiple other delegates to Cleveland-says it's time to come together and rally behind GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"Elected and volunteer “leaders” within the our party are publically speaking and conspiring against our presumptive candidate," the letter says in part.

It continues:

"Why? Their candidate lost. If any single thing has occurred across the country to date through this primary process, it is that voters now vividly see the hypocrisy of the party establishments. Donald Trump (and for that matter Bernie Sanders) exists largely because the people are sick and tired of being sick and tired over the political process lockdown continued by party bosses, big money donors, lobbyists and unelected bureaucrats. The process is broken and needs a house cleaning. We implore all Michigan Delegates to the RNC Convention to get behind our presumptive nominee."

The letter comes as former Cruz supporters Saul Anuzis, Wendy Day, and Barbara Bookout are under fire for launching an effort to steal the nomination from Trump at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

According to Chad Livengood of the Detroit News:

"Two Republican National Convention delegates from Michigan are joining a new grassroots coalition of party activists plotting to dump presumptive nominee Donald Trump at next month’s convention in Cleveland.

Republican activists Wendy Day of Howell and Barbara Bookout of Grand Rapids said Friday they are part of a growing multi-state network of delegates who are discussing changing the convention rules and freeing bound delegates from being forced to vote for Trump on the first ballot at the July 18-21 national party meeting.

“If such an opportunity presents itself, I will be first in line,” Bookout said...

State Sen. Jack Brandenburg, a Trump national convention delegate, on Friday blasted fellow Republicans for distancing themselves from the party’s presumptive nominee — three days after U.S. Rep. Fred Upton of southwest Michigan said he would not endorse the New York businessman.

“Trump’s the nominee, and I would suggest that if you call yourself a Republican, get behind him,” said Brandenburg, R-Harrison Township. “Look, I don’t agree with everything my dad says, but I’d still back him. This is a guy that went out there and kicked ass.”

Day said Trump has had six weeks since Cruz and Kasich dropped out to win over his party detractors.

“We’re engaged to Trump, but we’re not married,” Day said. “If you found out your fiance was a habitual liar, adulterer and owns casinos and an escort service, you may not want to get married at that point. We want to give people a chance to not get married to Donald Trump.”

Bookout has set her Facebook Cover Photo to a woman tied up with Trump looking menacingly at her...In one comment, Bookout writes "I am already unbound...help the others!"

Michigan's RNC Committeewoman Kathy Berden says it's time to unite behind Trump.

"So much at stake," Berden wrote on Facebook. "We need to support and rally around the presumptive nominee to take back the White House!! I am proud as Michigan's RNC to pledge to support Donald Trump, the winner of the most votes in Michigan, the people's choice."

Others agree.

"I am ashamed of those within our party seeking to thwart the will of the majority of our voters," 2nd GOP Congressional District Chair Mike Hewitt said.

"It is hard to lose an election. It's hard if you run or the person you supported ran and lost," Conservative activist Darlene Dowling Thompson said.

"The sad part about sore losers is they become bitter and want everyone else to lose as well. Some are even willing to allow someone like Hillary to win rather than see someone that they did not support win instead.

There is no principle as some are claiming in this effort to disrespect voters as though they think they know all and are the end-all. They are neither. They are sour grapes and sore losers and that is all they are. Period."

>>>Here is the full letter from Maddock and the delegates:

MIGOP preaches “unity”, but what are their actions?

Republican leadership always preaches unity. Teamwork. Coming together. Building bridges. Being on the same page. Lining up behind “our” candidates---even when you personally may have had a different first pick.

Grassroot voters have been hearing this message and have been on the receiving end of MIGOP “complaints” along this line for years.

“You guys just aren’t team players” it is said of grassroots leaders.  “You folks need to come together behind ‘our’ candidate” they tell us.

This is said when, for example, a conservative candidate primaries an incumbent. That’s bad. But if an establishment unknown primaries a sitting elected conservative, well, that is “for the good of the party”. More unity talks are then delivered.

Now comes candidate Donald J. Trump.

Delegates were elected to represent Michigan’s Republican voters and to go to the RNC Convention pledged to vote for a specific candidate for president. A similar process was used in other states to select their best representatives who will reflect the citizens who cast their vote in those state primaries or caucuses.

This is how our party set up the rules.

To do anything to the contrary would disenfranchise every American citizen who expressed their views by voting through the process. We are a nation of rules. These are the Republican rules, whether we like it or not.

So how is the presumptive GOP nominee for president welcomed by the MIGOP? A candidate that garnered more Republican votes than any candidate in history. A candidate with well over the “magic number” of Delegate votes to lock up a first round Convention nomination.

This is how that presumptive nominee is welcomed. Elected and volunteer “leaders” within the our party are publically speaking and conspiring against our presumptive candidate.

Why?

Their candidate lost.

If any single thing has occurred across the country to date through this primary process, it is that voters now vividly see the hypocrisy of the party establishments. Donald Trump (and for that matter Bernie Sanders) exists largely because the people are sick and tired of being sick and tired over the political process lockdown continued by party bosses, big money donors, lobbyists and unelected bureaucrats. The process is broken and needs a house cleaning.

We implore all Michigan Delegates to the RNC Convention to get behind our presumptive nominee. You are welcome with no judgement or finger-pointing, we actually do need to work together to beat a career politician and career liar who is running on the Democrat side

When do we need to come together?

Today.

How should our Michigan Delegates respond?

In public and often and loudly. Tell the MIGOP “insiders” and our elected Republican leaders how you really feel about their lack of unity.

We head off to Cleveland full of anticipation, with excitement and hope about tomorrow.

Together we will Make America Great Again.

Sincerely,

Steve Boron - National Delegate (District 13)

Jodie Brown - National Delegate (District 13)

Tamara Carlone - National Delegate (District 11)

Tom Llewellyn - National Delegate Alternate (District 11)

Meshawn Maddock - National Delegate (District 11)

Debra Mantey - National Delegate (District 5)

Diane Schindlbeck - National Delegate (District 2)

Marian Sheridan - National Delegate Alternate (District 11)

Dennis Marburger - National Delegate (District 9)

Wes Nakagiri - National Delegate (District 8)

Pettalia Says He's Happy Snyder Vetoed Restrictive Car Parts Bill HE Sponsored: Here's Why

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Welcome to Lansing, where legislators are sometimes elated at their own bill being vetoed by the Governor...

According to Emily Lawler at MLive:

"Gov. Rick Snyder on Thursday vetoed a bill that would have updated the state's Michigan Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act but also restricted the use of aftermarket auto parts for repairs.

Right now when vehicles are repaired in Michigan mechanics can use an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part or an aftermarket auto part made by a different company, which is sometimes less expensive.

Under HB 4344 mechanics would have had to use an OEM part and not an aftermarket part on new vehicles under warranty or under five years old unless the vehicle owner signed a waiver.

Gov. Rick Snyder in a veto explanation said the bill "overreaches in the limitation of aftermarket parts." He said that could raise auto insurance rates and hurt Michigan's aftermarket parts industry."

And get this: the bill's sponsor is GLAD it was vetoed!

"Rep. Peter Pettalia, R-Presque Isle, sponsored the bill. He's a mechanic himself, and had volunteered to help update the code. But what emerged strayed pretty far from his original intent, he said.

"All the entities involved were getting greedy," Pettalia said.
He said that during the legislative process, he came close to throwing the bill away multiple times.

"I don't blame the governor one bit for vetoing this bill," he said."

Too greedy? In Lansing? Imagine that...

Rules For Radicals: Saul Calls For Cruz/Walker Ticket And "Free For All" In Cleveland To Steal Nomination From Trump

Anuzis, left, Mitt Romney, right

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Former Ted Cruz advisor Saul Anuzis is backing a Cruz/Walker ticket in Cleveland in a sad and desperate attempt to steal the Republican Presidential nomination from Donald Trump.

Trump received more votes in the primary than any other GOP Presidential candidate in history...

"There is only one viable alternative that could possibly rally the grassroots on the floor of the convention – assuming Trump continues to implode…that’s a Walker/Cruz or Cruz/Walker ticket?!? Interesting times ahead," Anuzis writes on his blog.

Trump supporter Dennis Pittman, a Trump Alternate Delegate and former Executive Director of the Oakland County Republican Party, blasted Anuzis on Facebook.

"Scheming to break rules to ignore the will of 14 million voters is neither principled nor conservative," Pittman said. "Scheming to ignore state party rules throughout the country is neither principled nor conservative...So Saul and the schemers have hired someone to round up volunteers to call all the convention delegates and alternates to get answers to about 25 poll questions. By the questions, the goal is to subvert the rules, change the rules at the last minute and drag back one of the 16 losers to present as the nominee, against the will of 14 million primary voters. Yes this is principled."

Anuzis actually argues there are no rules and that the primary election doesn't matter!

Tim Skubick writes:

"Former Michigan GOP chair Saul Anuzis was a strong backer of defeated candidate Ted Cruz. He contends that once the gavel is banged to start the convention, there are no rules.

"Technically there are no rules at the convention once the gavel's been banged. so its a free for all theoretically," Anuzis said. "Not only could it be blocked, then but it could be blocked afterwards."

The movement to block Trump is so strong, somebody has even written a book on how to "unbound" the delegates. Simultaneously, a splinter group hopes to raise $2.5 million to run commercials urging GOP delegates to do whatever they want in Cleveland."

Just last Saturday, Anuzis said he had nothing to do with anything like this because an alternative hadn't emerged... Did something change?

"Saul Anuzis, a former Michigan Republican Party chairman, said he subscribes to the theory that all delegates are technically unbound when the convention convenes.

“I’m not of the dump Trump scenario, but if a viable alternative emerged, I wouldn’t be against it,” said Anuzis, who was a senior adviser on Cruz’s campaign.

Anuzis, who spent months corralling delegates across the country for Cruz, said there’s a “loose confederation” of delegates discussing how to change the rules and nominate a consensus candidate, but no real “organized effort.”

“I don’t think you can beat somebody with nobody,” Anuzis said. “But Trump just has not closed the deal, so to speak, so that creates an opportunity, uncertainty and a window for things to happen.”

I can think of another Saul who would be quite proud of Anuzis....

Stay tuned!

Watch As Ted Fricano DESTROYS Muskegon City Government In Must See Video

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Ted Fricano, owner of the historic pizza chain's Muskegon location, absolutely SCHOOLED Muskegon's government at a recent City Commission meeting.

In a video shared over 2,000 times and viewed by nearly 100,000 people in just 3 days, Fricano passionately lays out some of the issues plaguing Muskegon while also expressing optimism for the area's future-as long as city leaders take responsibility for their failures, take advantage of existing resources, and quit looking for new "big announcements" to save them...

Hundreds offered praise offered to Fricano on his restaurant's Facebook page.

"1. Ted is the best boss I've ever had. 2. He should have yanked that mic out and dropped it at the end," Steve Lorenz wrote.

Jannette Bole writes "Very interesting why all property owners are not held responsible. Thank you Ted Fricano for believing in Muskegon and making your place a gem on Muskegon Lake. Hopefully our city leaders will listen and act."

"Thank you. You so eloquently put into words what so many of us think. Muskegon has become a place we can no longer be proud of. And yet nothing happens to improve our home town," another wrote.

Hagerstrom Says Trump Can Win Michigan: Here's How That Might Happen

Hagerstrom

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Donald Trump's Michigan State Director Scott Hagerstrom says Trump can win the Great Lakes state for Republicans.

According to Chad Livengood of the Detroit News:

"The head of Donald Trump’s campaign in Michigan said Monday the presumptive Republican nominee is in a “statistical dead heat” with Democrat Hillary Clinton in the Great Lakes State.

Trump state director Scott Hagerstrom spoke Monday night to a group of Republican activists at a Michigan Conservative Coalition meeting at the Uptown Grille restaurant in Commerce Township.

Hagerstrom cited a statewide poll released last month to The Detroit News and WDIV-TV showing Clinton leading Trump by just over 4 percentage points — the survey’s margin of error — 43 percent to Trump’s 38.5 percent.

“We can win this state,” Hagerstrom said.

No Republican presidential has carried Michigan and won the state’s 16 electoral votes since then-Vice President George H.W. Bush’s 1988 victory over Democrat Michael Dukakis.

Trump’s campaign has targeted Michigan as a Democratic-leaning state they can get in their column in the November general election.

“We cannot sit by and let this chance go by,” Hagerstrom said...

“We’re not only battling crooked Hillary, but we’re battling a lot of what the media is reporting and their narrative,” said Hagerstrom, adopting Trump’s “crooked Hillary” nickname for Clinton. “But that’s not the narrative of the American people, that’s not the narrative of our country, what we need to make happen with our country.”

Meshawn Maddock, a conservative activist from Milford and Trump national convention delegate, helped organize the event as part of a statewide “listening tour” she’s conducting to get input on the Republican Party’s policy platform."

>>>Michigan Red For The First Time Since 1988? Trump In Statistical Dead Heat With Hillary

>>>So,  how might Trump win Michigan? Zack Gorchow breaks down a path on the Gongwer/RWC Advocacy Blog:

"Michigan keeps popping up in national discussions as a state of potential for Mr. Trump, alongside Pennsylvania and Ohio, the idea being that Mr. Trump’s anti-trade, anti-offshoring views will pay dividends in the Rust Belt. Just last week, CNN was drawing up a scenario to get Mr. Trump to 270 electoral votes, and it involved Mr. Trump winning Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

On Monday, Mr. Trump’s lead Michigan strategist, Scott Hagerstrom, was quoted by both Detroit newspapers at a conservative event as saying Michigan is winnable for Mr. Trump.

So how could Mr. Trump theoretically get there?

For starters, to get Mr. Trump a win in Michigan, he has to do no worse than the best performance by a Republican presidential candidate in Michigan during the Democratic streak, the 2004 race that President George W. Bush lost to John Kerry by 3.5 percentage points (165,437 votes).

That’s a daunting gap. Mr. Bush ran well in many areas, but got buried in Wayne County, which Mr. Kerry won by 342,297 votes. But let’s assume Mr. Trump can at least get that close and not get blown out like Mitt Romney (2012), John McCain (2008) or Bob Dole (1996).

How does he close that gap?

It would start with a lower turnout in Wayne County thanks to population loss and no longer having Mr. Obama, the first African-American nominee of a major party for president, on the ballot.

Could those factors trim 20 percent from the 305,258 votes Mr. Kerry received from Detroit in 2004? Mr. Obama pulled 281,743 some votes in 2012, a decline of 11 percent since Mr. Kerry’s result in 2004, so it seems possible. That would take away 61,000 votes.

Mr. Bush carried Macomb County by a small margin in 2004. Anecdotal reports have Mr. Trump doing well there and he scored huge in Macomb in the Republican primary. Just for arguments’ sake, what if Mr. Trump’s big, brash style appeals to Macomb voters and he wins the county 56 percent to 42 percent? Assuming the usual recent 400,000 votes out of the county in a presidential election, that would produce a 50,000-vote boost over Mr. Bush’s margin in 2004 there.

Now Mr. Trump has perhaps closed the gap by 111,000 votes.

Next, Mr. Trump would have to make good on his supporters’ hopes he can boost the vote with some white voters who otherwise would not vote. Could that be good for say, a half-percentage point boost statewide? That would be about 20,000 more votes, bringing the total gap closure to 131,000.

Finally, Mr. Trump would need disaffected supporters of Bernie Sanders to refuse to support Ms. Clinton. He’s trying to welcome them into his camp. That’s, uh, not going to work. But it’s possible the Green Party nominee, Jill Stein, could do much better than the 21,897 votes she received in 2012.

Could Ms. Stein get something on the order of the 84,165 votes that Ralph Nader got in Michigan in 2000 (with those votes coming from directly from people who would have voted Democratic but refused to back Ms. Clinton)?

That would get Mr. Trump to victory in Michigan."

WOW: Amash Says CIA Director Is Lying About Saudi Arabia's Secret Role In 9/11

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Congressman Justin Amash says that CIA Director John Brennan's assessment regarding 28 pages of a 9-11 report that have been kept secret from the American people for nearly 15 years is inaccurate.

Brennan claims nothing in the report implicates the Saudis and that the secret documents should be released.

Amash agrees they should be released, but fired back at Brennan's assertion the Saudis were in the clear.

"CIA director must be referring to different 28 pages than the ones I read," Amash said via Twitter...

According to The Hill:
“Information in the report, according to the New York Post, includes evidence of several phone calls between a handler for one of the hijackers in San Diego and the Saudi Embassy in Washington, as well as the transfer of $130,000 from the family checking account of then-Saudi Ambassador Prince Bandar to another San Diego handler. Strangely enough, as first reported by The Hill’s Alexander Bolton, in the days immediately following the Sept. 11 attacks, when all commercial flights were banned, 140 Saudi nationals were safely escorted out of the United States by the FBI.

Even though on two different occasions, in 2009 and 2011, President Obama promised relatives of the 9/11 victims he would make public the missing 28 pages, he has yet to do so. Now, with time running out before the end of his term, he’s under increased pressure."
Stay tuned...

Charges Against Gamrat Dropped As Schuette Continues Case Against Courser

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

All charges against ex-lawmaker Cindy Gamrat were dropped earlier this week as Attorney General Schuette says he will not appeal the decision, instead focusing on the two remaining charges against former State Rep. Todd Courser.

Gamrat celebrated the ruling on Facebook:

According to the Detroit Free Press:

"A judge dismissed misconduct charges Tuesday against two former Michigan lawmakers for their role in a bizarre, false email that was sent as a ruse to hide their extramarital affair, but let other charges proceed against one of them.

Lansing District Judge Hugh Clarke Jr. ruled that there was not enough evidence for Cindy Gamrat to face felony misconduct in office charges. But he said the case against Todd Courser can continue to trial on two of four counts — a perjury charge that carries a maximum 15 years in prison and a misconduct in office charge with a maximum five-year penalty.

Gamrat, who turns 43 on Wednesday, became only the fourth legislator in state history to be expelled. Courser, 43, resigned in September rather than be kicked out.

"I do have a lot of mixed emotions. It's been a really hard journey," a tearful Gamrat told reporters.

Courser expressed confidence that he would prevail at trial, calling the remaining allegations — that he ordered staff to forge his signature on draft legislation and then lied about it to a legislative disciplinary committee that was investigating the email cover-up — the "weakest" brought by state Attorney General Bill Schuette.

"I certainly maintain my innocence," Courser said."

"Bumbling" Heise BOOTED Off Ballot In Plymouth Twp. Supervisor Race

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

State Rep. Kurt Heise, a controversial legislator who fervently backed Prop 1, as well as the expulsion of fellow legislators Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat, has been booted off the ballot in his race against Shannon Price for Plymouth Township Supervisor.

The ruling came down Friday afternoon by the Court Of Appeals, who held Heise didn't file his candidacy paperwork properly despite being a lawyer and State Representative.

The lawsuit was filed by former Plymouth Township Police Chief Carl Berry...

Price ally and Republican consultant Stu Sandler celebrated the win in a Facebook post.

"Bumbling Kurt Heise failed to fill out his affidavit correctly. Attorney, state rep on elections committee can't follow the law ‪#‎fail‬"

It's described this way by local media:
"A technicality could decide the race for Plymouth Township supervisor before voters go to the polls in August.

In a lawsuit filed Friday in Wayne County Circuit Court, Carl Berry, a Republican activist, seeks to have Kurt Heise, who is challenging Supervisor Shannon Price in the Republican primary, tossed off the ballot for failing to fill out a box, on the affidavit of identity Heise filed for his candidacy, indicating his home precinct. The suit also asks that Don Schnettler, who is running for the Board of Trustees, be disqualified for also leaving the precinct box blank.

“Technically, it’s a violation of the law” to not fill in the box, Berry said Tuesday. “Do we want candidates violating the law to become candidates? I don’t think so.”

Berry, a former township police chief, is a supporter of Price and introduced him when Price formally announced last month that he was running for supervisor.

Berry said it “sounds harsh” to seek the candidates’ removal from the ballot, but that he’s “trying to get a problem resolved.”

“If the court comes up with a way to fix it, that’s up to the court and that’s fine with me,” he said."

Weiser Touts Role In RNC's Trump Victory Fund, Says Grassroots Activists Will Fuel November Win

By Brandon Hall
(Email him at WestMiPolitics@Gmail.com)

Former Michigan Republican Party Chair Ron Weiser touted his role as Vice-Chair of the RNC's Trump Victory Fund in a recent email.

The position, announced in late May, will see Weiser raise money on behalf of GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump, as well as other Republicans nationwide.

Weiser believes grassroots activists will step up to the plate for Trump and GOP candidates in November.

"I have accepted the position of Vice-Chairman of the Republican National Committee's Victory effort," Weiser said. "As I am sure you know, Trump Victory is a joint committee that raises money for the Trump Campaign, our Republican House and Senate races and the National and State Parties. I know that activists such as yourself, when given the proper resources, will knock the doors, make the calls and help all of our Republican candidates succeed."

Weiser made it official earlier this week in his run for a spot on the University of Michigan's Board Of Regents, submitting signatures of all 14 Congressional District Chairs to the MIGOP State Committee...

The full announcement is available below:

Fellow Conservative,

Last week I submitted my Affidavit of Candidacy and Candidate Permission forms to the State Committee with the signatures of all 14 District Chairs. I want to thank all of them for their trust and confidence.

I have always appreciated the hard work of the district chairs, state committee members and all of our hardworking precinct delegates and activists. Going back to our work together in 2010 when we swept the ticket, we learned that a robust ground war combined with a strong air campaign will lead to unprecedented success for our party. In 2012, we had similar success in the effort to defeat Prop 2 and pass Freedom to Work. Working together, we were able to give Michigan workers and businesses the competitive edge that they need to succeed.

It is for this reason that I have accepted the position of Vice-Chairman of the Republican National Committee's Victory effort. As I am sure you know, Trump Victory is a joint committee that raises money for the Trump Campaign, our Republican House and Senate races and the National and State Parties. I know that activists such as yourself, when given the proper resources, will knock the doors, make the calls and help all of our Republican candidates succeed.

I want to serve as your Regent at the University of Michigan because the we need conservative leadership, that understands how to run a business, leading the University. I will work tirelessly to prevent the University from finding ways around Right to Work, push to ensure that every student takes a class on the US and Michigan Constitutions and fight to keep tuition low.  My 34 years of experience in starting and growing a business and meeting a payroll can help us accomplish that goals.

While I am honored to have the endorsement of national conservative leaders like Senator Rand Paul, Congressman Allen West and Governor Scott Walker, the strong support from our State Committee and grassroots activists mean more to me than anything elseI would be honored to once again have your support and endorsement in my race for University of Michigan Regent.

I know, that by working together, we will win in 2016 and advance our conservative principles throughout Michigan and the United States.

With thanks and appreciation,
 Ron Weiser
