Genesee County has a problem: hundreds of thousands of defective absentee ballots could cost thousands of Michiganders their chance to vote.
The issue is allegedly being remedied, but many may fall through the cracks.
According to reports:
"People with absentee ballots in Genesee County have been voting for several days, taking their ballot to their local jurisdiction to be counted.
One big problem. Those ballots are no good and won't be counted.
Genesee County clerk John Gleason says 300,000 ballots that were printed for Genesee County voters, were not cut right. They won't properly fit through the computer that counts them.
Plus, there is a black number on the ballots. The state says that number now has to be green.
Gleason says thousands of ballots are "on the streets," in people’s homes and "floating around" Genesee County. The communities of Linden, Flint Township and Burton are among the areas impacted right now. Other cities like Flushing, haven't received their ballots yet."
Wow! Stay tuned...
