State House: Double Secret Probation Edition

What do you call a State Representative, Senate Majority Leader, former House Minority Leader, and potential Congressional candidate who all walk into a bar?

Roommates.

That’s because it is not at all uncommon for legislators and former lawmakers to shack up together, splitting the living costs of the Lansing life.

That arrangement seems to be the cause of a recent rumor regarding State Rep. Triston Cole.

A highly credible source tells WMP that Cole is part of Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof’s advisory team as he plots a run for Governor in 2018.

Cole tells WMP that’s not true at all, he’s not helping his landlord run for Governor.

“I have never talked with Arlan about running for Governor, Cole said. “Politics is the last thing we talk about at the house, we watch football and stuff like that.”

Landlord? That’s right.

Cole is living with Meekhof, along with former House Majority Leader Kevin Eisenheimer, and fellow State Rep. Peter Pettalia, rumored to be mulling a Congressional run in the First CD...

State Rep. Triston Cole
Picture a legislative frat house-like "Neighbors" minus Zac Efron, Dave Franco, and raging, alcohol induced police showdowns… :)

WMP takes Cole at his word and appreciates his willingness to clear the air. Until evidence changes the situation, though the source is highly credible and has been right multiple times before, the story regarding Cole working as a Meekhof operative for his 2018 Gubernatorial run is unsubstantiated.
