Genesee County Republican Chair Michael Moon defended his group's August 11th fundraiser co-hosted by the Saginaw GOP featuring Donald Trump in a recent Facebook statement.
"I refuse to stifle ANY persons right to express their opinion...You can't scream for tolerance if you don't have any to offer."
Here is Moon's full statement:
"Getting several messages regarding Donald Trump speaking at our event next month. There is no person walking this earth I agree with 100%. ANY candidate that wishes to speak in this county is more then welcome to do so. If you are offended by that candidate, I suggest you don't buy a ticket. Either way, I refuse to stifle ANY persons right to express their opinion. If anyone shut down your right to say what was on your mind, I'm sure you would find that disturbing. You can't scream for tolerance if you don't have any to offer. Allowing someone to speak at our event is not an endorsement, it's free speech."

What I find interesting with this whole kerfuffle is how the media gloms onto one sentence, while simultaneously ignoring the rest of Trump's speech which gave the proper context to what he really said.

But let's not let something like facts get into the way of a good story.
I'm with Moon. Let them all talk. Listen to learn and learn to listen.
