Michigan House Speaker Kevin Cotter has long disliked Cindy Gamrat, booting her out of the caucus months ago with no credible reason given. Now, with Gamrat at her lowest point, on the verge of tears and simply asking for the chance to say sorry, Speaker Cotter told Gamrat to get lost yesterday, refusing to give her a chance to read an apology to fellow Republicans.

In sharp contrast, Michigan House Dems leader Tim Greimel allowed Gamrat's apology to be read to their caucus, though he did not let Gamrat herself read it.While Gamrat has not helped her own cause the last few months in terms of working relationships with her peers, throwing her out of caucus was unneeded and drastic. Now, Cotter won't even let her apologize? Excuse my language, but that's f-ing rude.
As Gamrat attempts to figure things out, Cotter's actions are surprising. For Cotter to say that the tens of thousands of Allegan residents who voted for Gamrat shouldn't have a real voice in the caucus and therefore the legislature was disappointing, now not even giving Gamrat a chance to apologize to her duly elected peers is disheartening and downright dumb, especially when the GOP can't afford to be seen bullying women as part of the so called "War on Women" rhetoric Dems often use...
According to Chad Livengood:
"House Minority Leader Tim Greimel, D-Auburn Hills, said Gamrat asked him if she could apologize in person to the Democratic caucus during a closed-door meeting.
Greimel said he “declined to facilitate” Gamrat’s request, but allowed her apology letter to be read aloud during a caucus meeting...
Gamrat, who was kicked out of the Republican majority caucus in April for leaking confidential discussions, also asked to apologize to fellow Republicans, Cotter said
“I said ‘no,’ ” Cotter told reporters with Gamrat sitting 10 feet away at her desk. “I don’t think that is at all productive at this point. We’ve heard the public apology. She’s no longer a member of the caucus, and I don’t see any reason to have that apology at this point.”

I don't blame Cotter for doing what he did dur to the discredit those two brought to the party. They need to boot both of them out of office.
