Some delegates are calling for the Republican National Convention credentials of Saul Anuzis and Wendy Day to be revoked after a heated night in Cleveland full of allegations of trickery and lying, as well as intense arguments that almost came to blows.
"There is a delegate at the National Convention who needs to be removed! #NeverWendyDay," wrote Diane Schindlbeck, a Trump delegate from Spring Lake.
"TRAITORS Wendy Day and Saul Anuzis are here in Cleveland as elected Rep Delegates and are circulating a Petition to try and change the rules on the Convention Floor to StopTrump," said Trump delegate Debra Mantey. "LETS CIRCULATE this news. They should have their Party Credentials removed. Media will try and use this to create a circus out of our Convention."
The Michigan delegation has been mostly united, with the MIGOP being praised by delegates for their efforts hosting. However, issues intensified midway through an event Sunday evening when a petition started circulating by Day's guest Julie Kennedy calling for a roll call vote of all of the nearly 2,474 delegates in order to approve rules for the convention.
A roll call vote via RNC Rule 39 would fail, but be immensely time-consuming and disruptive, subsequently embarrassing to Trump. Many would also argue it's a complete waste of time after the Rules Committee voted overwhelmingly last week to reject the efforts of Cruz forces to steal the election from Donald Trump.
(Rule 39 says "If a majority of the delegates of any seven (7) states, severally shall demand a roll call vote, the same shall be taken of the states in the order hereinbefore established.")
Some who signed felt they were tricked, and WMP can confirm multiple delegates erased their name when they discovered the petition's real purpose.
State Senator Joe Hune, a Trump delegate and Platform Committee member, took to Facebook to blast the petition, also emailing delegates.
"To my fellow GOP Delegates, after serving on the Platform Committee it is obvious to me that folks don't have your best interests at heart. The lies that have been repeated in this arena are unbelievable. Please be cognizant of what you are signing onto his week as we work towards a United Republican Party. Please, before you sign onto anything give me a holler if you would like to chat!"
After the event, delegates boarded the bus back to the hotel. At some point early in the trip, William Rauwerdink, himself a former Cruz supporter who committed to Trump months ago, confronted Anuzis about the petition. Anuzis claims he is not involved in the effort, though many are obviously skeptical.
Rauwerdink and Anuzis were then engaged in a heated back-and-fourth many witnesses thought could escalate into a physical fight, prompting conservative "Battle Cry" leader Matt Maddock to intervene and break the two up. Subsequently, Anuzis and Maddock went at it and almost fought themselves. Other smaller arguments evidently broke out as well...
WMP has learned the efforts to force a roll call vote and attempt to steal the nomination from Trump are mostly being led nationally by Michael Harrington, a "#NeverTrump" activist who blogs for Red State. Harrington said in April that Cruz had already won the nomination just 2 weeks before the Texas Senator dropped out-that's how delusional this guy is!
"So, here I am, the first of the major and minor Statisticians, I am calling the election formally for Ted Cruz," Harrington said. "Yes this is my formal announcement. I was going to wait until April 27th, but the nature of the States has been provided to me by various sources, and I am confident that even with two major upsets that Trump is not going to win. Congratulations Ted Cruz for winning the Republican Nomination for President."

Here is what a roll call vote would look like via RNC Rule 37:
(a) Upon all subjects before the convention requiring a roll call, the states shall be called in alphabetical order.
(b) In the balloting, the vote of each state shall be announced by the chairman of such state's delegation, or his or her designee; and in case the vote of any state shall be divided, the chairman shall announce the number of votes for each candidate, or for or against any proposition; but if exception is taken by any delegate from that state to the correctness of such announcement by the chairman of that delegation, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of members of such delegation to be called, and then shall report back the result to the convention at the conclusion of balloting by the other states. The result shall then be recorded in accordance with the vote of the several delegates in such delegation.
(c) In balloting, if any delegation shall pass when its name is called, then at the conclusion of the roll call all delegations which passed shall be called in the order herein before established. No delegation shall be allowed to change its vote until all delegations which passed shall have been given a second opportunity to vote.
(d) Except in a roll call for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States, or where the majority of delegates of fifteen (15) or more states severally have requested that a roll call be conducted by voice call of the roll, the chairman of the convention may order that the balloting on any subject placed before the convention requiring a roll call be conducted by electronic, telephonic, or computer device which will display votes to the convention simultaneously. Each delegation chairman shall record and tally any such votes of the delegation on official roll call tally sheets 39 of 42 provided by the secretary of the convention, showing the individual vote of the delegates, and file such tally sheets with the secretary of the convention not more than thirty (30) minutes after the completion of the roll call vote.
(e) If the Republican National Committee determines that the national convention cannot convene or is unable to conduct its business either within the convention site or within the convention city, then and only then, the roll call for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall be allowed to be conducted according to procedures authorized by the Republican National Committee."

ReplyDeleteI still don't understand why so called conservatives vote for people like McCain Romney or trump.
ReplyDeleteRauwerdink is a con man and convicted felon that hangs with the Maddock people. No one respects them and at the next meeting Rauwerdink is being asked to step down. They are an embarrassment.
