Attorney General Bill Schuette says Speaker Cotter waived Constitutional immunity in court proceedings for the Michigan House when he led the charge to pass legislation investigating State Representatives Gamrat and Courser last fall.

The legislation, HR 145, passed and set the foundation to remove the controversial legislators...

According to Gongwer:

"A.G.: House Waived Immunity When Calling For Investigation

"When the House adopted HR 145 calling on the state's law enforcement agencies to investigate the actions of former Reps. Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat, it waived its protections under the speech and debate clause, lawyers with the Department of Attorney General said in a brief filed last week."

Stay tuned...
